Dr. A. Vijaya Varma

Dr. A. Vijaya Varma was born on 15th May 1945 at Sri Bomma Rajupuram, Puttur (P.o), Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh. He finished his schooling in Z.P.High School, Puttur. He studied MBBS Course in Kakathiya Medical College, Warangal, Osmania University, Andhra Pradesh and M.S. (General Surgeon) in Madras Medical College, Madras, University of Madras. He is practicing as a General Surgeon in Durga Nursing Home since 1984.

He held a post of Secretary and President in Indian Medical Association, Avadi-Ambattur. He was once President & Treasurer in Lions Club of Avadi and conducted various medical check-up programmes in the surrounding villages. He is a member Trustee in Lions Club of Avadi, Hindu Educational and Charitable Trust, Adi sankara Institute of Cultural Research and Training in Avadi.

Dr.Ilangovan Vedagiri

Dr. Ilangovan Vedagiri born in Pune in the year 1954. Started schooling at Pune and Calcutta and completed Higher Secondary at Tiruchirappalli. A good Athlete at school and represented the school cricket team as an all rounder. Joined Madras Medical College Dental Wing in B.D.S course in 1970. University First Rank holder in Final B.D.S. After graduation in 1975 was selected for Research fellowship course in orthodontics conducted by Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi for 2 years. In private dental practice since 1976 at Avadi. The senior most and popular Dentist at Avadi. A life member of Lions Clubs International since 1980. Interested in social service activities right from the school days and continued into college and life. Held various posts in Lions Clubs International and conducted several dental and Medical camps and was actively associated with Polio Vaccination Programme.

Received several appreciations, awards and medals from Lions International and other forums. Held several Honorary posts in various Trusts and Organisations. Trustee Hindu Educational and Charitable Trust, Trustee Sri Devi Educational & Charitable Trust, Trustee Vethathiri Maharishi Manavala Kalai Yoga Trust. Secretary and Asst. Shri. K.V.Rangaswami

Shri. K.V.Rangaswami, was Advisor to the Chairman, Larsen & Toubro Limited till 30th June 2014. He retired as the Member of the Board and President - Construction of Larsen & Toubro Limited on 30th June 2011. He headed the Operations of the ECC Division-L&T, the largest construction organization (US$ 5.8 Bn) in India which operates in Middle East, Africa, SAARC and far-East countries apart from India. Post retirement, besides being the Advisor to Chairman, he is also the Chairman of the Board of two independent unlisted internal companies of L&T - Metallurgical Material Handling Independent Company & Infrastructure Independent Company.

After completing B.Tech from IIT-Madras he joined ECC (A fully owned subsidiary of L&T at that time) in 1965 and since then he has been contributing immensely to the growth of L&T in various roles and capacities. He has been instrumental in designing innovative and cost effective designs for many structures, some of them conceived and designed for the first time in India. He became Whole Time Director of the Company in the year 2005

Shri. A.N. Ramesh Babu

Shri. A.N. Ramesh Babu was born on 15th December, 1942 and he received his early education in Chithoor and Ambur (North Arcot District in Tamil Nadu which was a composite state at that time. He had his college education in the Madras Presidency College and Mount Road Arts Colleges.

In 1964, he settled in Madras (Chennai). He stayed with his cousin Dr. K. Raghunath Reddy who started his private Medical Practice in the year 1961. When he came to Avadi there was no temple that pained the pious and enthusiastic A.N. Ramesh Babu. In 1968, he constructed a temple and conducted Kumbabhisekam. That powerful deity is Devi. Karumari Amman and the temple is popularly known as Sri Devi Karumari Amman Temple at Avadi. With the construction of this temple his religious service was commenced with much fervour.

Earlier Sri. A.N. Ramesh Babu in the year 1971 joined the Lions International Organisation. In 1972 Dr. B. Ramamurthy the eminent neuro-surgeon donated 1.32 acres of land on the Chennai Thirupathi National High Ways, where they conduct all their medical service to the public. They are going to develop the hospital in a big way.The year 1982, the temple had to meet a dispute, that it was taken for granted as private temple and property. But an unrelentless A.N. Ramesh Babu fought the case in the court along with Hindu Religious Board. He went upto supreme court, and the supreme court declared it as public temple. High court judge Sri Rathnam appointed A.N. Ramesh Babu and confirmed him as the fit person to take care of temple along with Hindu Religious Education Board. In this blessed place (Kamaraj Nagar) he started the branch School Vivekananda Vidyalaya in 1981.

In the year 1981, near Sri Devi Karumariamman temple at Kamaraj Nagar, in a 1200 sq.ft. building by (late) S. Vimala in memory of her father Sri. C.M. Srinivasan. Lion A.N. Ramesh Babu, our founder-correspondent launched his vision-mission project with five teachers and 129 students where our Matriculation school is functioning now. The property belongs to Devi Karumariamman Trust with Lion A.N. Ramesh Babu as the Founder-Correspondent and Managing Trustee.In the year 1983, they purchased the land in Vivekananda Nagar and Late Sri Jaigopal Garodia, the philanthropist adopted the school as chief donor and contributed Rs.7.5 lakhs. With pains taking efforts of A.N. Ramesh Babu along with Lion Dr. Ilangovan Vedagiri. International Lions Club donated Rs.6.75 lakhs. There is a total area of 5 and Half acres with one lakh plus sq.ft. built up area. It includes a sprawling play ground, an indoor auditorium and also an open auditorium.This school in its basic fabric is purely a service oriented non-profit organisation. Right from its inception, as a policy no donation has been collected from the parents.

The school is a much sought after popular school where admission is made by LOT system in the presence of local elected representatives, one revenue officer and one police high rank officer and also in the presence of all the parents who have applied for admission for their wards. The year 2012 was blessed with the inaugurations of Vaikhanasa Veda Patasala by the His Excellency Governor of Tamil Nadu Dr. Rosaiah and blessed by the Swamijis of Sri Kanchi Mutt. The Bhoomi Pooja for the new building for the Vedapatasala was performed on 2nd February,2014 by Swamiji Shri Jayendra Saraswati Shankaracharya Swamiji and Shri.Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati Shankaracharya Swamiji. At present about 80 students are studying in Vaikhanasa Veda Patasala.

Shri. A.N. Ramesh Babu

A.N. Ramesh Babu Profession He started his career as Burma Shell Dealer selling petroleum products in 1970 upto 1973, it was his monopoly business in Avadi. At that time, it was only Petrol Pump available for nearly 10 km radius in the locality. (Now in the same area more than 30 outlet are there). In the same area, in spite of the availability of other outlets he is the market leader as the Bharath Petroleum Corporation declared his Petrol Pump as the Platinum Outlet.

Earlier, he had the hobby of hunting (before it was prohibited) and car Race. Finally for the past 10 years he has been concentrating only on religious Vedic Educational Service. He was also instrumental in starting Vinayaka Chathurthi procession with five idols with the blessings of Kanchi Mutt Swamijis and Sri Ramagopalan, Hindu Munnani and other BJP Leaders at Avadi. His quest for more service and thirst to do more for the society, continue with the usual fervour and enthusiasm. God may bless him to succeed in all his endeavors and also for his good health and happiness.

K. Jayaramakrishnan

K. Jayaramakrishnan is currently a Consultant in TCS after superannuating from TCS as Vice President, Head - Global Alliances. He is also currently the CEO of Rajalakshmi Group of Institutions.

Jayaramakrishnan is a post graduate in Management with specialization in Systems and Marketing from the Bajaj Institute of Management, Mumbai.

With around 35 years in the IT Industry, he has been with Tata Consultancy Services for the past 25 years holding various positions both in India and abroad.

At TCS he handled following areas:

  • Client Relationship Manager for American Express, Time Warner, Target, Nasdaq
  • Regional Manager at Maryland, USA
  • Vice President, India Business unit for 7 years, covering Indian Financial Institution, Corporates and Government customers
  • Vice President - Global Alliances for 3 years
  • Currently, representing in the Board of 3 online companies (TCS joint venture with Government of Maharashtra, MP and AP) and 5 IITs where TCS has invested

As CEO of Rajalakshmi Institutions, focusing on Industry collaboration, Industry research, etc. He is in the working board of the newly initiated Rajalakshmi School of Business. Board member and advisory council member in Kanchi University, Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Viswa Maha Vidyalaya (SCSVMV) Jayaramakrishnan was the Chairman - Convener for the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Task Force on Industry - Institute - Interaction from 2004 to 2009. Chairman of Computer Society of India, Chennai Chapter - 2008. Was the Member of the IT Task Force of the Government of Gujarat and e- Governance Standards Committee of Government of Tamil Nadu Convenor for the ICT Academy of Tamilnadu (A Consortium of Govt. of India, Govt. of Tamilnadu & CII) Interested in Indian Classical Music and Playing Golf His Keen interest in Culture (music, dance, drama and religious) related activities, has made him participate in various sabhas in Chennai, in an advisory capacity.
